How To Reinvent Yourself – 8 Steps
When you already reached rock bottom, the only way left is to go up. Reinvent yourself. Embrace change.
Being and feeling stuck in life is an awful place to be, especially in the current situation when the world is still trying to recover from a pandemic and we’re forced to stay indoors as much as possible, for safety.
When you are stuck, it feels as though you are literally just spinning your wheels in the mud and are running around in circles.
It also feels as though no matter what you do or say, nothing will ever change for the better and you’ll be stuck in a clumsy situation forever.
If you’re not careful, being stuck in life can magnify the fear, guilt, shame and/or apathy you’re already feeling. You can become even more stuck than you already are. This can lead to further problems like anxiety attacks and worsen your mental health.
But remember, when you already reached rock bottom, the only way left is to go up.
Reinvent yourself. Embrace change.
Ways to reinvent yourself when you are stuck in life are:
1. See your situation for what it is
The first step to get out of this is to stop overthinking. The way you perceive your life during those moments when you feel stuck will have a lot to do with how quickly you can recover.
If you fall into the trap of self-pity – or even worse, depression – the time it takes to get your stuff together is going to take a lot longer.
Realize that your situation is similar to everybody else. You’re not the first person in the world to become stuck and you won’t be the last.
2. Grab a notebook and start writing
You will be amazed to see how beautifully journalling can make you feel liberated. As you feel stuck in life, just grab a notebook (or a sheet of paper) and start scribbling your thoughts in it.
You don’t have to worry about creating a masterpiece, just write what you are feeling, right at that moment.
What is bothering you or something that’s pulling you down. Once you pour out your thoughts that are blocking your mind, you’ll have the sanity to look at things in a different light.

3. Read more self-help (motivational) books
A great book can unlock parts of your brain you didn’t know existed. Learning is crucial to being successful and books are a worthwhile investment in your education. Many of the world’s most successful people are voracious readers.
The habit of reading will also protect your brain from being idle and fill your soul with knowledge. Read self-help books to sharpen your skills. Read biographies to be inspired by the stories of successful people.
4. Get some more sleep
Sometimes, lack of sleep has a direct effect on our lives. If you want to stay productive, make sure you’re getting enough sleep.
We romanticize the entrepreneur who works 20 hours per day, but if you need that much time to get things done, you’re inefficient.
It’s better to have full engagement for a shorter period of time than to spend an entire day working with a half-empty tank.
As you get enough sleep, your mind will be refreshed and you’ll be able to focus on your priorities in a much better manner.
5. Work on your attitude towards life
The attitude you have towards life has a direct affect on its quality. We mostly start losing hope in challenging situations, and feel that we might not be good enough to cope up. To be honest, you’re attitude shapes your decision-making.
It also determines how you’ll react to tough situations. A negative attitude guarantees failure and thus, every time you feel stuck in life, think positively.
Believe in yourself, that you are good enough to overcome and fight back with glory.
6. Meditate
Your mind runs rampant with anxious thoughts on a daily basis. Trust me when I say this, even I go through these phases where I tend to overthink about everything and then get clueless about life. In those times, it’s mindful breathing that helps the most.
Meditation alleviates stress and helps you become an observer of your thoughts instead of a slave to them. Just sit down in a quiet place, focus on your breathing and relax your muscles. Feel the worries going out of your mind as you exhale.
7. Reach out to someone you admire
Sometimes, talking to someone you can trust also helps to recover from the stress of being stuck.
Ask them what they did when they were stuck in life. People love sharing their stories and you may find the answer to your challenges in someone else’s story.
Having those beautiful people in your life is always a good way to find an alternative path to solve your problems.
And even if you don’t find a solution, you’d still feel relieved to share your thoughts that were burdening your shoulders.
8. Take a trip to a place you’ve never visited before
Whenever I’ve felt stuck (until the Coronavirus happened), I have found that taking a trip made me feel better than anything else could do.
There have been several times when I went on high altitude Himalayan treks and lived the minimalistic life. it ended up giving me much clearer perspective about everything.
Last year, I went on a volunteering trip to Kenya and it was soul stirring to see how people can be so happy with whatever little they have.
It ignited sense of gratefulness in me, and I realized that a lot of the feelings associated with being stuck come from a lack of gratitude.
Somethings, we feel we’re stuck because we tend to forget what we already have.
These are just a few ways that I’ve followed every time I felt stuck in life, and struggled to overcome.
They have helped me immensely. But having said that, i would also like to mention that you can only be successful in dealing with such feelings when you deeply believe in yourself. If you lose hope, you’ll keep entangling yourself.
Success isn’t a giant leap. Success comes from doing the little things day in and day out.
The habits you formed in the past are what gave you your current circumstances. If you want to change your life, change your habits.
We all get stuck in life – the key is to get unstuck as quick as you can.
