How To Start Living Life In A Meaningful Way – 7 Steps
Depression is something which distant you from your loved ones, something which forces you not to get up from the bed and sleep for 16 hours straight, something which doesn’t let you think straight, something which makes you feel like you are always on drugs, something which causes hallucinations and something which takes away your real self.
Before shifting to a new city, my life was miserable and I was helpless. I used to face terrible anxiety attacks and insomnia too. I was on medications for 3 months till the time realized that I can’t live my life like this.
But before all this, my life was a complete disaster. on the outside I looked just fine, I used to go to college, come back, study, write a little but cry a lot to sleep. I started isolating myself too much because of my anxiety. even going to buy something was a task back then for me. stepping out of my house was a challenge.
Depression is something which distant you from your loved ones, something which forces you not to get up from the bed and sleep for 16 hours straight, something which doesn’t let you think straight, something which makes you feel like you are always on drugs, something which causes hallucinations and something which takes away your real self.
One day I was so tired of my own sufferings that I just decided that I am not going to live my life like this and this is what I did and you should too-
1. Rewire your brain
Repeat affirmations every 2-3 hours for a whole month, write well about yourself in a journal even if you don’t believe in it right now. When you tell your brain something constantly, it starts believing it.
2. Stay busy
Don’t give time to yourself to even think of all those negative things. you just gotta break that cycle of constant worrying. That’s one of the reasons I moved out because I knew my life would get really busy and, to be honest, it has become busy and better, much better!
3. Work out
Use the excess energy to work out, because if you won’t, you will think about random scenarios that have a 0.001% probability of happening and you’ll make yourself sad.
4. Cut ties with negative people
You become like the people you spend your time with, so better spend with the positive ones out there.
5. Understand that everything you go through is a part of your journey
Understand that it is trying to teach you something, that it is a part of your spiritual growth, you are more mature now. so stop regretting and start living.
6. Self-care
Take good care of yourself, pamper yourself, and treat yourself like you are the most important person on this planet because you are!!
7. One day at a time
Conquer one day at a time, do not think about the past and not even about the future. just focus on right NOW.
It was just another day of college placements. little did I know that this was going to change my life. I am the kind of woman who knows what she wants. I don’t settle for less. But this was something I always wanted to do, to move to another city and to do a job which I was interested in and side by side build something of my own.
I shifted in September 2019. I go to work in the morning, come home at night, make dinner, clean, write, talk to a few friends, and sleep. On weekends I go and explore the city and work on my blog. life has become pretty interesting and I guess this was the change I really needed in my life. I decide the kind of vibe I want to surround myself with. I do what I want.
Right now, I am at the point of life where I am loving my life every day and now when I look back I feel really proud. And this didn’t happen in a single day, I have put in a lot of conscious effort to heal myself and to make life better and you can do it too!
Happy healing!
